I thought I would a few notes after the first Mocksports draft in ages.
I went to the Gibson draft thinking I would track the the draft using Rotolab like I usually do. All of us were using the draft room for the first time. In the draft room all the players are listed in order their estimated value. Estimated using their own system. You have the option of looking at just hitters, or pitchers or any individual position. You can queue up players your interested in taking by clicking on a plus sign next to their names. You can also click on a played name. When you do this, he goes to the top of the page next to the draft button which is only active when it is your turn. If this player gets selected before your turn, he is replaced by either the most valuable free agent or the player at the top of your queue. I learned this when I had Byron Buxton ready to draft and the team before me took him. When draft button turned white, I pressed. Like 20 minutes later, I looked at my roster, no Buxton, but I had Diaz, a player I didn’t recall drafting who must have been the most valuable when Buxton got sniped.
If there is ever another draft, I think I would like reorder the player pool and set up my queue before the draft starts. I started to reorder the players, but at least once, I came back and my work was gone. Would really like to understand how to save that! Could messing with the draft settings reset this? Accept the fact that you are not going to be able to track the draft using your usual software. Things go very quickly. If you pick in 45 seconds, the software picks for you ( most valuable or top of you queue). If you do pick, next guy is on the clock.
We should also have a mock draft so everyone can see how it works. If any of the other Gibson folks want add to this, please do
