Has anyone determined yet how the drafts will be held this year. Since the Mocksports site is gone and MIRC doesn't seem to be working
we need to work on alternatives.

Someone suggested using the OnRoto Chat Room which seems to work well other than not being able to rename your team along with your draft position as a nickname.

HOW DOES ONE ACCESS THE ONROTO CHATROOM

Go to your OnRoto team page. Look for the tab near the bottom of the page labeled "Team Pages", the sixth heading under that is "Messages/Email/Polls/Chat". If you put your cursor on that you get a list of options, "chat room" is the last one, left click on it and it will open the chat. I think it automatically uses your team name for the chat.

Ok, I checked out the chatroom and it seems like it would work for a draft.
and you can change your team name and add your pick number to the system thru the team set up page.
just type in your team name (for new owners) and add your pick number and for the old owners they only need to add their pick number.

What I don't know about the chat room is how you would be able to have the person running the draft access the room unless he is one of the owners in the league.

He can be added as a co-owner of a team

The LA could change the team names before the draft. It might even be helpful to put our place in the draft order in the team name just for the draft. We all get a little punchy as the evening progresses.

You can change your team name on the Onroto page by going to "Team Set-up Options". It's the last tab on the left hand side. Click on that tab, after it opens "Change Team Name" is at the top. Type in your team name, then click the "submit" button which is near the bottom.

Now that we're approaching the start of auctions, we'll need to have a definite plan for the location. Does anyone have suggestions about another site/method? If not, we'll have to start informing the membership and providing a condensed set of instructions for using OnRoto's tool.

I thought we had decided to use OnRoto's chat room.
In the future, or if we decide to run an experimental league they do have full draft/auction room capability. Might be tricky to manage toppers and speed rounds but I think it would work. I'll do some research on it for the future. Another positive of using their draftroom is that the rosters are AUTOMATICALLY loaded into OnRoto. Speaking as a lazy person and an LA of two leagues, I like this aspect a lot.
