Highlanders
Given that Edward Oliveres goes to Blue Sox, I think that this post auction process adds more complexity than needed and adds confusion to when teams are posting and in what order.
I propose that the disabled players spots get filled at the end of the auction in the original draft order. In addition, a team can choose to pass, however, would lose their position. Therefore, the post auction board becomes first served.
Any thoughts on this idea?

Rule 4.5.3 Paraphrased - During the post-auction period (the ~48 hours between the end of the draft and midnight 2 days after when free agent claims are $6) claims are processed in reverse order of previous year's standings, i.e. the auction order. Team 01 gets their first claim processed, then Team 02, etc. until all teams have had 1 claim processed. Then Team 01 gets its second claim processed and it continues in that manner. After midnight Tuesday for this league it becomes normal rules, claims are $1, and 1st to post claim gets the player. We did this a few years ago so that the quickest typist didn't necessarily get the first player off the board.

I suggest you post this in the Rules, questions, proposals, discussion forum under Rules so everybody, not just this league, can see it and comment if they wish. But I see 2 problems. First, few if any of us want to do anything to extend the auction, it's already long enough and late when it ends, especially for those of us on the east coast. Second, all this accomplishes is condensing the current 48 hour post-auction period with essentially the same results. The rule does clearly state that it's important to post alternative choices in case you don't get your first choice.

Therefore, the post auction board becomes first served. Any thoughts on this idea? Not sure what this would accomplish as the result on Olivares would be the same. Bluesox would have first claim. And extending the online draft is not the way I would want to go. They are already long and often places hardships on those who have to go to work the next morning. I think the current process is working. Every team has 48 hours in which to make a claim involving a player on their roster who is injured, etc. After the 48 hours has expired, then claims are processed one at a time in the draft order. Each team gets a chance at a player in the first go around. And that is why it is important to include alternatives in case your choice gets selected by another team.
