I like extra E1s too.

I agree on 5 extra E1's but I think if we go to 10 minor league spots it would probably make sense to have another poll on this question. I also agree with Rick about not allowing minor leaguers to be waived should we decide to replenish roster spots during the year. We would have to determine guidelines for replacing those who get injured should we decide to allow that.

Rick: "I feel that we should not allow a waiver of a minor league player ... " teams have cut players from their farm teams before the drafts. The original post clearly state "before the season." Unless that changed, it should continue. Tom: Never was clear on what the letter designations accomplished. Seemed to muddy the water. More than 5 minors? Still have 21 letters in the alphabet.

Letters are used to signify that it's a minor leaguer to distinguish an A5 minor leaguer from a $5 major leaguer. So the point is that Joe, Tom, and I are in favor of having the salaries of minor leaguers #6 to #10 be $1. Sounds like we're saying the same thing about before the season. Cut=don't freeze. No discussion of changing that.

Put me down as not being in favor of adding an additional 5 minor league slots. I understand the reason for adding slots but we currently have difficulty completing the minor drafts as is since we are not supposed to start it until the regular draft is done. And running a minor draft is a bit of a headache as there is always one or two guys who don't actively participate in making their selections. I don't look forward to adding 5 more rounds of headaches. I might could see expanding it to 6 or possibly 7 spots though.
I am in favor of being able to replace those minor league players who have been promoted, injured, etc.
